Settler's Dream by jane-mirage Settler's Dream by jane-mirage
Another trip to Allora around January this year. My friend took me out to an old abandoned settler's cottage in the area. Apart from getting most embarassingly stuck on a barbed wire fence in a compromising position it was amazing! Was the middle of the day though so I'm going to have to go back another time around dawn or sunset.

This is a manip version of one of my favourites. I'll post some of the straight photography shots too (eventually!).

All stock and textures from personal resources.

Wonderful. It shows so well how, even with so much attention to details and care (the quality of the stonework and the lumber used, for instance) that our dreams can crash down around our ears simply because of circumstances beyond our control.

Well done.

Yes it was an amazing spot. They would have been very isolated originally. I'd love to know the story of the house...maybe next time I'm out there I'll ask around a bit more.

Sorry for the later response too ;)
